USA Box Office escaped Johnny Depp

The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival , after which critics immediately began betting on whether Depp would receive a Oscar nomination. For the first time in a long time, the actor got a role in which he was able to fully realize his dramatic talent. The unpretentious story of a brother and sister who went to their strange grandmother for the weekend was loved by horror fans. At the moment, the total home box office of the tape is $ 42.3 million , which, given the modest production budget of $ 5 million , can be considered an excellent result.  The leader of last week - the thriller " The Perfect Guy " with Michael Or in the title role, has dropped to fourth place. The film managed to raise an additional $ 9.6 million , and its total achievements in the United States are now estimated at $ 41.4 million . The movie David M. Rosenthal won the moviegoers with a well-chosen cast: Sena Lathan perfectly embodied the image of the victim, and the transformation of Michael Ely from an ideal guy to a psychopath was a success.  And last week's newcomer, Balthasar Cormakura Everest , closes the top five in the North American box office.
