DiCaprio reveals Volkswagen scam
According to The Tracking Board , Paramount Pictures and Appian Way , owned by Leonardo DiCaprio , have acquired the rights to an adaptation of a planned book about an event called the Volkswagen scam.In September 2015, it turned out that more than 11 million diesel cars of the Volkswagen brand around the world were equipped with software that, during technical inspections, underestimated the amount of harmful gases emitted into the air by tens of times. The company has acknowledged that it has underestimated emissions from vehicle sales in USA and Europe . The scandal caused the resignation of the chairman of the auto concern Martin Winterkorn and significantly brought down the company's shares. The New York Times Jack Ewing journalist's book explores how today's widespread motto "Bigger, Better, Faster" has led to one of the world's most major scandals in the world of automotive corporations. The film adaptation is produced by Jennifer Davisson Killoran and Leonardo DiCaprio . It is possible that the latter will play one of the roles in the future film.  Leonardo , who, by the way, is an active environmentalist, it is not the first time to transfer various dramas of real life to the cinema screen. For example, in Martin Scorsese's film "The Wolf of Wall Street", the prototype of the actor's character was the broker Jordan Belfort convicted of fraud. As for the upcoming performance of Leo as an actor, it will happen relatively soon: the drama "The Survivor" by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu will be released in USA on January 7, 2016 .
