Two Oscars under one roof
Embankment Films and Viewfinder will host an Acting Masterclass by two Oscar-winning film, theater and television stars. British studios have invited Sir Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs) and the charming Olivia Coleman (The Favorite) to star in the film adaptation of The Father.The first production of the drama by Florian Zeller took place in September 2012 on the stage of the famous Parisian theater "Eberto". In the center of the plot of the play is an inhabitant of London named Anne, who moved to Paris to care for her sick father Andre. The life story has earned rave reviews in the press and won the main French theater award Moliere in the categories Best Play, Best Actor and Best Actress. In 2014, Father began a triumphant march through the world's leading theaters. The portrayal of the title character of the play won the Scottish Kenneth Cranham the Laurence Olivier Prize, and the American Frank Langelle the Tony Prize. Anthony Hopkins will now try on this challenging role. His on-screen daughter, you guessed it, will be played by Olivia Colman.   The film version of Father will be directed by Florian Zeller himself, who wrote the script for the film in collaboration with Oscar winner Christopher Hampton (Dangerous Liaisons).
