The famous magazine The Hollywood Reporter made another gift to movie ratings lovers. In 2016, the owners of the publication turned to Hollywood directors, screenwriters, producers and actors to help them compile lists of the best movie quotes and greatest heroines in the history of film and television. This time the magazine's management decided to determine the brightest and most memorable movie villains. THR reporters interviewed several hundred television and film industry figures. Darth Vader was recognized as the most colorful antagonist of all times and peoples. Surprisingly, initially George Lucas wanted the dark Sith Lord to speak in the voice of Orson Welles and wear a silk cape instead of a helmet. It’s scary to imagine what places in the popularity ratings would go to Vader if the creator of Star Wars had not changed his image for the better. Interestingly, the opinion of the filmmakers regarding the first place in the rating of the best villains coincided with the choice of the readers of Empire magazine. Favorite villains of the entertainment industry are: 1. Darth Vader (David Prowse and James Earl Jones) - The Star Wars Saga 2. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) - "The Silence of the Lambs" 3.
