Disney Selects Deadpool
Two months ago, Disney closed a $ 71 billion deal with Fox Corporation and became the proud owner of Avatar, The Simpsons, Alien, X-Men and many other high-profile brands. It seems that House of Mouse has already begun to think about how to fit some of the newly arrived movie and TV characters into its own franchises.According to Hollywood insiders, at the moment the management of the Walt Disney company is discussing the further fate of Deadpool. Studio bosses are offered at least three options for the development of the superhero universe. Firstly, we can talk about the filming of the direct sequel to "Deadpool 2". Everything will depend on whether the board of the film company wants to take the risk and preserve the age limit of the original dilogy. Recall that both previous films about the chatty mercenary Wade Wilson received a "17 and older" mark. At the same time, Disney people have never released films with a rating higher than PG-13 in their 96-year history. A February interview with Disney President Robert A. Iger, who let slip that his studio may well make an exception to the rule for the sake of one of the most colorful characters in modern pop culture, sets up a positive for Deadpool fans.  It should not be ruled out that the company is using a more cautious approach and will prefer to release the first project with Wilson's participation with the usual rating. In this case, it will either be about creating a miniseries for the online service Disney +, or about uniting Deadpool with Peter Parker in the Spider-Man triquel.  Both ideas, of course, look very promising. Nonetheless, Deadpool fans must have serious concerns about them. Changing the rating from R to PG-13 risks leading not only to a sharp decline in on-screen violence, but also to the fact that Disney people will have to take a bad example from the creators of the X-Men: Inception. Wolverine "and deprive the hero Ryan Reynolds of the opportunity to swear and joke on the verge of a foul.  If, in the end, the management of the Disney studio settles on the idea of creating a film about the joint adventures of Wilson and Parker, the first announcement of the superhero crossover may take place already in the scene after the credits of the upcoming blockbuster Spider-Man: Far From Home.
