Netflix Films Millar Comics
About a year ago, Netflix acquired Mark Millar's publishing house Millarworld. The merger was a strategic move, as Netflix aims to compete with giants like Disney and Apple, which will soon open their streaming services. The ideological mastermind of Kick-Ass and the Kingsman franchise has accumulated a lot of materials that are just waiting for adaptation. Finally, today, Netflix representatives shared information about which comics will be filmed: two series and three films await fans. All projects are already under development.One of the series, Jupiter's Legacy ("Legacy of Jupiter" *), tells the story of the conflict between fathers and children of two generations of American superheroes. The first received their superpowers in the 1930s, earned a reputation as guardians of order and have already retired, and their children are destined to continue the work started by their parents. However, not every superhero can live under the shadow of the glory of the great ancestors. Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Spartacus franchise) has been appointed as showrunner and executive producer for the series, who will also direct the first episode of the series.  The protagonist of another show, tentatively titled American Jesus, a twelve-year-old boy, suddenly finds out that he is Jesus Christ. He has the power to turn water into wine, raise cripples to their feet, and even raise the dead. The main question that the series will explore: How will the second coming of Jesus affect the fate of the world? Everardo and Leopoldo Gouts ("The Big Game") will act as showrunners of the show, and the same Everardo has been appointed director.  The full-length film Emporia * follows the fate of the queen, who, by a sad accident, married the worst dictator in the universe, King Morax. After she manages to escape the palace with her children, the Empress must find refuge away from her husband and his army, even if she has to hide on different planets. The screenplay will be written by Lindsay Beer (Godzilla vs. Kong) and produced by Joe Roth and Jeffrey Kirchenbaum (Maleficent, The Journey of Doctor Dolittle).  In the film Huck ("Huck"), the action takes place in a quiet coastal town. The main character uses his superpowers to do good deeds every day. His neighbors do not remain in debt, keeping the secret of a humble benefactor. But when a newly arrived settler reveals Huck's secret to the media, the maelstrom of events sends Huck on an adventure that will change his entire life. Ted Melfi (Hidden Figures) will write, and Neil H. Moritz (Fast and Furious) and Toby Jaffe (Total Recall) will produce the film.  And the last picture - Sharky, The Bounty Hunter ("Sharkey, the bounty hunter" *) - tells the story of the mercenary Sharky, who pursues bandits throughout the galaxy in a jet ice cream van. The road to a brilliant career as a bounty hunter is open before Sharkey, and a ten-year-old partner helps him in this difficult task. The film will be released next year and will be written by Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. All, Macho and the Nerdy). * - preliminary translation.
