There is never too much Star Wars

Image With the anthology "Star Wars: Stories", Disney may have tied it up, but the major will continue to delight fans of the film series with traditional trilogies. The Skywalker saga will end in December this year, after which Star Wars will take a three-year hiatus, and in 2022 the first film in the series from D.B. Weiss and David Benioff.

Last month, it was reported that Disney and Lucasfilm were preparing a film adaptation of the video game Knights of the Old Republic. At that time, journalists suspected that either the House of Mouse was planning to shoot a series for its new streaming platform, or that Weiss and Benioff's secret project was based on the Knights of the Old Republic. However, both of these guesses were far from the truth. The adaptation of the game could be the starting point for another potential trilogy - different from those prepared separately by the authors of "Game of Thrones" and Ryan Johnson. Moreover, Laeta Kalogridis was chosen as the scriptwriter of the project, and she has practically completed work on the text.

Kalogridis knows firsthand what it's like to create colorful worlds on large screens. Together with James Cameron, she was at the origin of Avatar, wrote scripts for such blockbusters as Terminator Genisys and Alita: Battle Angel, and also adapted The Isle of the Damned for Martin Scorsese.

The first game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which takes place four thousand years before the events of the original trilogy, was released back in 2003, winning many awards and receiving positive reviews.
