Paramount Unleash Space Knight

Image Back in 2015, Hasbro and Paramount announced the start of building a cinematic universe that would include films based on the company's popular toy lines. At the same time, among the upcoming projects, a tape about the space cyborg Roma was mentioned. However, in one of their interviews, John Francis Daly and Jonathan M. Goldstein, who were part of the authoring group assembled for the universe, expressed doubts that Rom would ever make it to the big screens. As it turned out, the bosses of Paramount disagree with the writers and are ready to send the space knight on a trip to the theaters.

As the portal Deadline found out, the major invited Zach Penn to write the script for the film about Roma. Whether there are already any sketches for the project, created by the author's group, is still unknown. However, the source writes that Penn is a fan of Hasbro toys and Roma in particular, which, apparently, influenced the choice of the studio.

Originally a cyborg warrior, Rom was a toy that Hasbro released in the wake of the popularity of Star Wars in the late 70s. Subsequently, the Marvel company received the right to release a comic about Roma. Curiously, on the printed pages he enjoyed much greater success, and now graphic novels about the space cyborg are being published by IDW. Thanks to the comics, Rom has got his own backstory. Thus, the cyborg belonged to a utopian society from the planet Galador and later led a technologically advanced nation in the war against the Terrible Spirits, relying on the power of dark magic.

On the pages of comics, you can find a lot of interesting plots for the film about Roma, and Zach Penn is already adept at adapting Marvel graphic novels for large screens. On the account of the screenwriter are the blockbusters "Electra", "X-Men 2", "X-Men: The Last Stand", "The Incredible Hulk", "Avengers", but Rom is still not as popular as the X-Men or Avengers teams. One of these days, USA viewers will have the opportunity to evaluate the film "Ready Player One", the text to which was also written by Penn, and Zack's future projects also include the reboot of "The Matrix".
