Death Note will receive a sequel
Netflix is ready to add new names to the mysterious Death Note. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the streaming giant has begun work on a sequel to the film adaptation of the cult manga Tsugumi Oba.The premiere of the American film adaptation of Death Note took place on August 25 last year. The film received mostly negative reviews in the film press and frankly disappointed loyal fans of the franchise. Netflix does not publish its ratings, and therefore viewers were left to wonder if the tape of Adam Wingard managed to bring the online service a decent TV audience. A year after the film's release, Netflix's head of content, Ted Sarandos, finally announced that the $ 40 million film had been financially successful. The plot of the second part of Death Note will be thought up by the novice Hollywood author Greg Russo, who wrote the script for the upcoming reboot of the Mortal Kombat film series.  It seems that Netflix executives prefer to turn a blind eye to the critical arrows of their film projects when they manage to show solid ratings. Previously, management of the streaming service gave the green light to the sequel to the fantasy action movie Brightness, which was crushed by critics but attracted more than 11 million viewers from the screens.
