After the blockbuster "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" failed quite unexpectedly at the box office in 2016, the leadership of the Paramount studio faced a difficult choice - to give the heroes of the dilogy another chance or try to reboot the franchise once again. Now it has finally become known that viewers should not hope for the continuation of the storyline of the two previous films.Variety reporters managed to catch on the red carpet yesterday's Critics' Choice Awards Andrew Form and Bradley Fuller, overseeing work on a new story about Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael. According to the producers, their film will be a reboot of the film series. Form and Fuller also admitted that Paramount bosses have high hopes for the project and hope to launch it before the end of this year. The decision to reboot the franchise looks pretty logical. Recall that the charming inhabitants of the New York sewer first appeared on the cinema screens in the early 90s of the last century in the trilogy "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". Twenty years later, Paramount has decided to introduce Mirage Studios to a whole new generation of viewers.  In 2014, the first part of the updated "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" grossed $ 493 million worldwide. Two years later, a sequel was released, which earned half as much and, as a result, could not recoup its solid $ 135 million budget.
