Netflix Films Diablo Game

Image As Hollywood studios still cannot overcome the ominous curse hanging over the film adaptations of popular video games, representatives of the game industry have begun to increasingly look towards the magical world of television. The leaders of Blizzard Entertainment Corporation were no exception. According to Variety, the Californian company and online service Netflix will join forces on an animated series based on the famous Diablo game franchise.

The first game in the series was released in 1996 and immediately gained cult status among fans of the Action / RPG genre. Since then, Diablo has received two more titles and has sold a total of 25 million copies. Blizzard is currently working on the fourth part of the franchise. It looks like the bosses of the corporation decided that the best advertisement for Diablo IV will be an animated series on one of the leading streaming services in the world.

Netflix already has experience in making TV series based on well-known computer games: last year, the streaming hygiene presented the Castlevania animation show to viewers. The Diablo TV adaptation team will be led by acclaimed comic book writer and Eureka creator Andrew Cosby.
