Goodbye, Baby, Goodbye drama will move to TV

Image Through the efforts of the FOX channel, one more item can now be added to the list of films that will receive a reboot on the small screens. The Hollywood Reporter managed to find out that the television network ordered a pilot episode of the series based on the book "Goodbye, Baby, Goodbye" by Dennis Lehane and the plot of the 2007 film of the same name.

The script for the new show is in charge of Robert Levine, who previously worked on Black Sails, Contact and Live Target. Together with original author Dennis Lehane, he will also executive produce the as-yet-untitled series. Miramax will also be involved in the work on the project, whose film division once presented the audience with a full-length film.

Goodbye Baby, Goodbye is Ben Affleck's directorial debut, starring Casey Affleck and Michelle Monaghan. Their heroes were investigating the disappearance of a girl who disappeared in a suburb of Boston. The series also features private detectives Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro from Dorchester, Boston's working-class district. Armed with ingenuity and knowledge of the laws of the streets, they fix what the law cannot do.

Reboots of famous movies and TV series are still in demand among channels, despite a number of failed attempts in the past. The current season of pilots is rich in such projects: if successful, viewers will see the spin-off of Bad Boys, new versions of Private Detective Magnum, Murphy Brown, Roswell and even Charmed.
