At first Svyatoslav Podgaevsky frightened the audience with the Queen of Spades, after - with the Bride, and now it was the turn of the mermaids. The idea for the director's new film, titled "Mermaid: Lake of the Dead", is based on Slavic legends about drowned women. One day a young guy met a rather strange girl on the shore of the lake, and after this incident his health deteriorated. In search of a cure for a mysterious disease, his beloved finds out that we are talking about a mythical creature - a restless drowned woman who dreams of revenge on the whole world. According to the laws of the genre, a girl will have to fight a mermaid to save her beloved one ...The first and very atmospheric poster for the national horror has appeared in the LostFilm.INFO gallery, and its creators have already promised that even more screamers and suspense will await viewers in the horror film than in their previous films. Moreover, Podgaevsky himself claims that he decided to bring the fantastic myth as close as possible to reality, and therefore his "Mermaid" is even somewhat similar to the "Witch" by Robert Eggers, which at one time made a splash at the Sundance independent film festival and opened movie actress Anya Taylor-Joy. While our compatriots continue to develop the horror genre, Americans are still keen on superheroes, but do not forget about the classics of literature.
