Jodie Foster Stands Up for the Environment
Two-time Oscar winner Jodie Foster will take on and star in the remake of the ecotriller Woman in War, according to Collider.The original film was directed by Icelandic director Benedikt Erlingsson (On Horses and Men). The film was nominated in Cannes for the "Press Award" and recently became an official nominee for the "Oscar" from Iceland in the nomination "Best Foreign Language Film". Icelandic actress Halldoura Geirhardsdouttir (Angels of the Universe) played the main role in the original. She played a 50-year-old music teacher and environmental activist whose life suddenly changes after the adoption of an orphan girl. Judy Foster commented on her choice:"" Woman at War " so amazed me, it's just beyond words. The main character of this film is a real warrior and a strong woman who risks everything she has for the sake of doing the right thing. ”The actress also said that she was attracted by “a bold and quirky mixture of humor and emotion”.
