Feige promises more superhero movies
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel CEO Kevin Feige confirmed that the studio plans to make more films with female main characters, and also spoke about last year's Wonder Woman.Captain Marvel was a game changer as Carol Danvers's big-screen debut opened the door to new superheroines in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We recently reported that Black Widow is in development, and Feige confirmed that more such projects are expected in the near future for comic book fans. After Ant-Man and the Wasp and Now Captain Marvel and a number of other films that we will soon announce, I look forward to the time when films about superheroines will not be considered something unusual, but will become the norm. And not so that the audience would react like, “Oh look, woman,” but rather, “Oh, what is this film about? Who is this character? I want to see! '' I think sooner or later we will come to this.  When Feige was asked why it took the industry so long to get women to star in blockbusters alongside men, the producer offered the following explanation: “I think there is a misconception that the audience does not want to watch movies with heroines on the first plans because of the heap of tapes 15 years ago, which simply did not work. And I always thought that they didn’t work not because of women, but because they themselves were of low quality”. Captain Marvel will fix this situation. Despite the fact that Wonder Woman did not escape attacks for its image of the titular superheroine, Feige praised the DC film: “I am glad when the cinema of our genre is doing well, and I am talking not only about superheroics, but also about action or say-fi. I'm in awe of the success of Wonder Women because I want people to say, `` Oh my god, what do you think of this popular superhero movie that came out a few years ago?
