Angels of the Third Reich
The famous French studio StudioCanal continues to conquer new markets. Last spring, one of the leaders of the European film business launched a fund to support Australian film makers. In early August, we announced that the first project of the StudioCanal Australia department will be a tape about the legend of the world of cosmetology, Elena Rubinstein. As it became known to the publication Deadline, the management of the film company decided to invest in filming another curious biopic.StudioCanal will join forces with Australian studio Goalpost Pictures and the government of the green continent on a film tentatively titled Vienna Boys Choir. The tape tells about one of the darkest pages in the history of the famous song group from Austria. To save the choir from closing, in the 30s of the last century, its leaders had to give several performances for Adolf Hitler. Soon a swastika appeared on the concert costumes of the members of the musical ensemble, and in 1939 the Fuhrer decided to use the angelic voices of boys in the propaganda of the Third Reich and sent the Vienna Choir on a world tour.  The news of the outbreak of World War II caught the Austrians in Australia. The conductor of the choir and twenty boys between the ages of 8 and 14 had to spend a long six years in the country for a kangaroo. Local residents provided the young singers with such a warm welcome that after the end of the military conflict only one of them expressed a desire to return to their homeland.
