Gotham Creator Prepares TV Series About Alfred
A few days ago, the disappointing news came from the FOX camp that the Gotham series would end after its fifth season. However, showrunner Bruno Heller is not going to leave the world of the Dark Knight: the producer is preparing a new prequel to the story of Batman called "Pennyworth", which, as you might guess, will be dedicated to Alfred Pennyworth, the butler and mentor of Bruce Wayne. The Hollywood Reporter reports.The drama received an order for the full ten-episode season from Epix. The show has nothing to do with Gotham or a spin-off, and Sean Pertwee, who plays Alfred on the FOX series, is also not involved in the project. In addition to Heller, director and executive producer Danny Cannon will also move from the Gotham team to the new prequel. The series is reportedly set to take place in the 60s in London, when Alfred Pennyworth, a former British Special Air Force soldier, founds a secret company and began working with Thomas Wayne.  The drama about Alfred is a big step for the Epix television network, which until now has only had a few original projects.
