“Oh Captain! My captain! ”
Michael Shannon ("My Son, My Son, What Have You Done") has signed on for the lead role in a romantic drama about growing up called Swing. The film will be directed by Howard Deutsch (Understudy, Outcast) and produced by Fortitude.In spirit, the film will resemble the show "Lights of Friday Night" and the painting "Society of Dead Poets". The action will unfold in 1999 around a close-knit elite rowing team, whose life in the last year in college will turn upside down when they appoint a Vietnam War veteran (played by Shannon) as their coach. The script is based on the story of a former naval officer Voin Jaji who happened to work as a rowing coach at Columbia University.
