Zemeckis will teach Hanks the basics of survival again

Image In 2000, director Robert Zemeckis and actor Tom Hanks presented the world with the wonderful film "Rogue", which tells about the adventures of a Fed Ex employee on a desert island. As it became known to the publication Deadline, soon the Oscar winners will meet on the set of another intriguing one-man show about survival and loneliness. Last October, Tom was cast as the talented inventor in the post-apocalyptic movie tentatively titled BIOS. Today Robert Zemeckis confirmed to foreign journalists that he will act as the producer of this tape.

Hanks will play the last person on the planet to find a cute dog on the ruins of civilization. The main character of the film will decide to assemble a robot so that the four-legged friend will not be left unattended in case of his death. Soon, the scientist will realize that putting the concept of love into a soulless machine will be as difficult as forcing a dog to become attached to a pile of metal.

BIOS will be the fourth joint film project of the star duo. In 1995, work on Forrest Gump won Zemeckis and Hanks a gold statuette at the 67th Academy Awards. Five years later, Robert and Tom directed The Outcast, and in 2004 released the animated blockbuster The Polar Express.

The script for the film about the last man on Earth was written by a young English author Craig Luke and his more experienced colleague Ivor Powell, who participated in the creation of such sai-fai classics as Alien and Blade Runner. The film will be produced by Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. Work on the painting will start early next year. The filming will be directed by Emmy Award winner Miguel Sapochnik (Game of Thrones, Altered Carbon).
