Suicide at the Crossroads
Back in January, Yuelle Kinnaman shared a photo from training on social networks, in which the actor was captured in the company of his colleagues from the Suicide Squad. At the same time, rumors appeared on the Web that WB wanted to speed up work on the blockbuster sequel, but all subsequent news about the DC cinematic universe indicated that due to circumstances, the studio's plans had changed.Major concentrated on preparing various spin-offs of "Suicide Squad" and creating a separate brand, under which films about popular comic book characters, not related to the general universe, will be released. At the same time, information about the situation of "Suicide Squad 2" was hushed up, and only now the portal The Hollywood Reporter managed to find out that the WB leadership remained dissatisfied with the scenario of the second part. According to the source, Gavin O'Connor ("The Warrior"), who was appointed director of the second film last year, David Bar Katz and Todd Stashwick, will now take over the reworking of the text. In the track record of the first, there are not many projects: Katz is one of the creators of the series "Annoying House", as well as the screenwriter of the comedy "The Pest" with John Leguizamo in the title role. As for Stashwick, he is known so far only for his acting work in the TV series 12 Monkeys, The Originals and Heroes.  WB planned to start production of Suicide Squad 2 later this year, but it looks like the spin-off about Harley Quinn has a better chance of getting to the screens now. The difficulty lies in the fact that for the filming of the sequel, the studio will have to agree on the working schedules of many Hollywood stars, including Will Smith, Margot Robbie and the same Kinnaman.
