Review of the Muppets movie. Welcome back!

Finally, six months (!) after the world premiere, the Muppets reached USA. Finally, we also have a chance to rejoice at the next return to the screens of the Jim Henson puppet troupe. Finally, we can once again plunge into the cozy atmosphere of a kind and colorful world that Kermit and his companions kindly provided us. At last.

How many of you are unfamiliar with the legendary Sesame Street? I don’t think so. But it is unlikely that many, up to this point, knew about the existence of the `` Muppets Show '' – a more modest TV show, which was almost never aired in our country, and aired for only five years in English-speaking countries. The heroes of this, nevertheless, managed to repeatedly light up in the aforementioned `` Street … '' and in several full-length projects, for these heroes, in fact, and conceived. Moreover, they continue to do all this to this day.

And so. If you are not yet familiar with these adorable creatures, then it's time to catch up, for the newly minted Muppets – a great opportunity both to introduce your children to the beautiful, and to participate in this beautiful thing yourself.

The Muppets bribe, first of all - – that's really strange – by the muppets themselves. Charming hand puppets are not able to leave indifferent any living soul, which is lucky to look at them and laugh with them. This is funny Fozzie, and wayward Piggy, and charismatic Kermit, and now, on top of everything else, also an emotional Walter, and a whole troupe of various puppet characters, which all together on the screen, at times, look livelier than other people.

Another thing that just makes you feel love for this movie – humor. There is a sea of it here and it is smeared over the timing so smoothly that it completely merges with the action as a whole. And although it slips quickly and in moments, but – what a miracle! – stuck in the brain, thereby allowing, for a long time to savor each dropped by the heroes – or demonstrated by the world around them – joke until it finally settles in my head.

And, of course, the Muppets would not be themselves, without bringing into the picture the lion's share of irony and self-irony. They do not hesitate to laugh as at themselves with `` theirs '' movie (" … I can't believe that we had enough budget for this … ", " " hellip; can I suggest saving time by editing? '' and so on), and over various – not necessarily stamped – with cinematic images and techniques (which is only one `` Journey on the Map ''! And the advertising company, which parodied in trailers a bunch of the most different, from `` Twilight '' to `` Girl with a tattoo ... '' movies, generally deserves a separate discussion).

Finally, the entourage. These are wonderful costumes, decorations, landscapes; and a whole galaxy of stars of different sizes, both in roles and in cameos; and the spirit of the movie itself, cheerful and perky, filled with invigorating and sensual songs (one of which is – Man or Muppet? – I even grabbed One Golden Statuette at One Ceremony of Presenting These Statuettes, although, perhaps, it would be better if it was Life 'sa Happy Song from here). All this together on the spot finishes the blissful viewer, at the same time giving him a powerful injection of kindness and philanthropy. For which it remains only to say `` Thank you '' to the creators.

Speaking of the creators, it's a sin not to mention Nicholas Stoller and, especially, Jason Siegel, without whom this movie would not have seen the light of day. Both – scriptwriters of this magnificence, and the second, moreover, also played a role in it; and played well, although his character fades into the background in the course of the action. Well, here it is difficult to forget about Chris Cooper, the villain, with his Manic Laughter, who, among other things, also manages to rap. Fair? Scream, not an antagonist, caricatured to the point that it looks funny and even original.

For people unfamiliar with this luxurious show, the feelings left by the `` Muppets '' will ultimately boil down to one of two opposite feelings: bewilderment, on the verge of rejection of this seemingly corny and sugary children's world (option for hardened cynics), or joy and charm on the verge of euphoria from all the riot of colors happening on the screen (option for everyone else). For those who grew up on this show, or did not disdain in adulthood – and did the right thing – watching it, it will be as expected, but no less bright and pleasant meeting with an old friend. And it doesn't matter at all how old you are – all ages are submissive to this picture.
