Battlestar Galaktika received sequel master

Image Jay Basu, author of the recently released thriller The Girl Who Was Trapped in the Web, will rewrite the script for the long-running Battlestar Galactica feature film, which has been in development at Universal for a long time. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The film, based on the cult series of the same name, will be directed by the director of the Hunger Games sequels, Francis Lawrence.

The first draft of the script was written by the creator of the popular show about the rebellious androids Lisa Joy. She reimagined the 1978 sci-fi action movie, which follows a small group of survivors from a robotic battle on a battle cruiser who must rebuild society. In 2004, Syfy relaunched the show under the direction of Ronald D. Moore.

Dylan Clarke (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Michael De Luca (Social Network) have been producing the future film. Scott Stuber, a former vice president of content production at Universal and current head of Netflix original film development, has taken over as executive producer.

Basu recently completed the script for the Charlie's Angels remake and is currently plotting the screenplay for the Metal Gear Solid video game. Jay will also have a hand in writing the lyrics for the sequel to Labyrinth, a surreal fantasy musical starring David Bowie.
