Apple will bring the bandits back to screens in time

Image Apple, which is preparing to launch its own streaming platform, is serious about catching up with other online services in terms of the number of TV series. Already in development there are about ten shows for every taste and color. Among them are the film adaptation of Asimov's Foundation, and the fantastic drama with Jason Momoa, and the thriller from M. Night Shyamalan. According to Deadline, the list can now include the TV version of Bandits in Time.

The painting is considered to be one of the best and most popular works of Terry Gilliam. The latter, by the way, is listed as the executive producer of the Apple series, but his involvement in the creation of the show will probably be limited to this - Gilliam has no plans to write or direct the remake.

The original 1980 film tells the story of a little boy who, along with a group of dwarfs, embarks on an unpredictable journey through time. During this adventure, the heroes encounter various historical figures, such as the longing for fun Napoleon, the powerful Agamemnon and the grumpy Robin Hood.

For Bandits in Time, Gilliam brought together such movie stars as Sean Connery, Ian Holm, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Ralph Richardson and Shelley Duvall. The very idea of the film will fit perfectly into a television format like Quantum Leap or the recently closed drama Out of Time, where each episode is dedicated to a journey through a specific historical period.
