Meeting parents is a responsible business, and Hollywood directors have shot more than one comedy on this topic. Domestic cinema does not lag behind them: Kirill Sokolov, a debutant in the world of big cinema, decided to show the audience a long-awaited meeting in a separate USA family. However, the heroes of his film "Daddy, Die" are not at all laughing, as the name of the picture alone indicates.At the request of his girlfriend, Oli Matvey comes to meet her father - the burnt-out opera Andrei Gennadievich. True, instead of flowers and ice cream, the guy took a hammer with him to avenge his beloved by killing her cruel dad. However, Andrei Gennadievich himself is not a bastard, so soon Matvey is already sitting handcuffed in the bathroom, and all subsequent events can be described in one phrase - a bloody mess ... Sokolov's tape turned out to be both funny and dramatic. It is difficult to classify it as a specific genre: there are elements of comedy, acute social drama, thrash action, horror. The film managed to win the main prize at the Window to Europe festival and, in a good way, amazed critics with its brutal cynicism. The loser Matvey was played by Alexander Kuznetsov ("Acid"), and the most vile father in the world was played by Vitaly Khaev ("Portraying the Victim").
