Starship Enterprise is at a crossroads

Image At the end of last year it became known that Quentin Tarantino could take part in the work on the new film of the cult sci-fi franchise "Star Trek". The management of the Paramount studio was completely delighted with the ideas of the two-time Oscar winner and even thought about assigning an adult rating to the film for the first time in the history of Star Trek. Now new details of this intriguing project have appeared on the web.

Over the past months, Star Trek fans have been racking their brains over whether this is a direct sequel to the blockbuster Star Trek: Infinity or whether Tarantino's film will become a spin-off of the main film series. Apparently, Quentin intends to continue the story of the adventures of the crew of the starship "Enterprise". This information was shared with ET Canada by actor Zachary Quinto, who played Spock in the Paramount trilogy.

We all love the idea of working under Quentin,” said Quinto. -But I heard that the authors of Infinity Simon Pegg and Doug Jung are writing their own version of the script. Another text is being prepared by another group of scriptwriters”.

Zachary's words make it clear that at the moment three scenarios of the fourth film of the film series are under consideration by the management of the Hollywood studio. One is by Tarantino, the second was written by Pegg and Jang, and the third is rumored to be the work of Infinity's pre-screenwriters Patrick McKay and John D. Payne.

If the studio intends to start working on a new part of the franchise this year, it will not opt for a Tarantino script. In the next couple of years, the director will not be able to board the Enterprise-A ship, as he will be busy working on the crime thriller Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in which Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt have already signed the main roles.

It is possible that in the end, Paramount management will prefer to implement one of the other scenarios of "Star Trek 4" and save Tarantino's ideas for the fifth film.
