MGM will go to the days of the samurai

Image The Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film company will take viewers to Japan in the second half of the 16th century, when the so-called era of warring provinces flared up in the Land of the Rising Sun. One of the oldest Hollywood studios is starting work on the historical action "Yasuke", which will tell about the amazing adventures of the eponymous black samurai.

It is generally accepted that the hero of the future film was born in Portuguese East Africa and arrived in Japan in 1579. Two years later, the African was invited to the palace of Oda Nobunaga. The influential Japanese feudal lord liked the communication with the overseas guest so much that he offered him the post of personal squire.

A couple of years ago, the Lionsgate studio tried to tell the story of Nobunaga and Yasuke's friendship, but in the end, her film project never went into production. Fans of historical films can only hope that MGM's attempt will be more successful. The screenplay for Yasuke will be written by aspiring Hollywood writer Stuart S. Paul.
