Tim & Clive Song

Image In the filmography of Francois Girard there are not so many films, but for each of them the Canadian managed to get famous actors. Keira Knightley played in Silk, Dustin Hoffman and Katie Bates in The Choristers, and to work on his new project, the drama Song of Names, Girard invited Tim Roth and Clive Owen. The portal Deadline reports.

Also in the cast of the tape are Catherine McCormack, Jonah Hauer King and Guerran Howell. The film is based on the eponymous work of the English musicologist and critic Norman Lebrecht, which was adapted by Oscar-nominated Geoffrey Kane (The Faithful Gardener).

The novel is a story of friendship between two Jewish boys that began before World War II. Martin is the son of a music publisher, and Dovidl is an unusually talented violinist. Their relationship was quite common for children of this age: sometimes they competed and quarreled, the rest of the time they were inseparable. When Dovidla's father went to Poland, Martin's family took the child with them. Over time, Martin joined the family business, and as a practical person, he did not understand his friend's whims. Yes, Martin admired Dovidl's talent, but his friend's unbridled nature pissed him off. And on the evening of his first concert, the violinist disappears, and only a few decades later Martin learns about what really happened to Dovidl.

“Song of Names” is an emotional detective story set on two continents for half a century. The horrors of war blaze behind musical revelations, and lost souls are extinguished in the depths of history. Music is an integral part of this drama, and therefore it is not surprising that the film's soundtrack will be written by the Oscar-winning composer Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring).

This year, Tim Roth will appear on the big screens in the drama "Padre", and next year will visit Tarantino's Hollywood. As for Clive Owen, he can be seen in the tapes "Three Seconds" and "Twin".
