Clive Owen has joined the cast of the movie, which is set to be directed by famed French director Luc Besson. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

This is a project based on the popular graphic novel "Valerian". The comic was released in 1967 and has been translated into 21 languages. It takes place in the future, when time travel became possible. The main characters are the Special Agent and his girlfriend Loriline.

It is assumed that the shooting of the picture will start in the fall of 2015 with an eye to the premiere in 2017. The title roles will be played by young actors Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne. As for Owen, he will play the role of Commander Arun Flitt.

The project will be financed by Luc Besson's studio EuropaCorp. The director's wife, Virginia, will co-write the script.

Recall that in 2014 and 2015, viewers could see Clive Owen in the television series Knickerbocker Hospital. The actor was nominated for the 2015 Golden Globe and KinoNews 2015 awards for his participation in this project.
