USA's Box Office has gone down
Since the premiere of the fourth "Avengers" took place only on Monday, the past weekend turned out to be unhappy for USA distributors. The lack of high-profile novelties and the passivity of moviegoers waiting for the Marvel blockbuster did their job, and this weekend the proceeds of cinemas amounted to only 312 million rubles. A similar failure in the domestic box office was observed in December 2012, a week before the release of the first "Hobbit".The top five for the weekend (April 25-28) is as follows: 1. "Billion"  Week at the box office: 2 Added: 83.8 million rubles. Total fees: 299.1 million rubles. Sank / Rise: - (-52.1%) The top spot on such a weak weekend is hardly a cause for joy. Even in the absence of strong competitors, “Billion” managed to lose more than half of the viewers. Holidays saved the feed, otherwise the audience decline would be 60% or more. The filmmakers can count on a maximum of 350 million rubles, because with the release of The Avengers, viewers will instantly forget about the vague action comedy with cardboard characters. 2. "After"  Week at the box office: 2 Added: 35.6 million rubles. Total fees: 184.5 million rubles. This once again confirms that the film adaptation of Anna Todd's novel, which began with publications on the Wattpad platform, is aimed at a rather limited audience, and those who wanted to see the picture did it back on the premiere weekend. 3. "Curse of the Weeping One"  Week at the box office: 2 Added: 29.9 million rubles. Total fees: 121.7 million rubles. Sank / Rise: - (-56.9%) While the only representative of the "The Conjuring" franchise, the results of which could reach "The Curse of the Crying", remains the first film about the sinister doll Annabelle, but its total amount (196.4 million rubles) looms far on the horizon, but the horror of Michael Chavez is for sure will surpass the achievements of the thriller "We" (157.4 million rubles). 4. "The Great Journey"  Week at the box office: 1 Added: 27.3 million rubles. Total fees: 27.3 million rubles. Sank / Rise: - (-) The cartoon co-produced by USA and the United States, which opened in theaters on Saturday, had only two days to show a decent result. At least the animation has managed to become the best rookie of the week. The “Big Journey” started at the level of “Cracked Holidays” (29.5 million rubles), but significantly yielded to the result of “Two Tails” (43.6 million rubles), which had a full four-day weekend at their disposal. 5. "Mind Games"  Week at the box office: 1 Added: 23.8 million rubles. Total fees: 23.8 million rubles. Sank / Rise: - (-) Despite the fact that the biographical drama only closed the top five, it fully met the expectations of distributors, who expected to receive a modest 15 million rubles on the first weekend.
