Jim Carrey will fight the Ezhik Sonic
Film company Paramount Pictures is preparing to lift the sinister curse hanging over the film adaptations of popular video games. As it became known to the publication Deadline, the Hollywood studio intends to attract two-time Golden Globe winner Jim Carrey to work on the film based on the Sonic the Hedgehog game franchise.The actor will embody the image of the eternal rival of Sonic the hedgehog - the insidious doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. The acquaintance of gamers with this colorful antagonist took place in 1991. A quarter century later, he was named one of the ten best villains in the history of the gaming industry by IGN. Earlier it became known that in visual terms the film about Sonic's adventures will be a mixture of 3D animation and location filming. Rumor has it that the image of Robotnik will be created using ordinary makeup, and not motion capture technology.  The details of the plot of the film are still kept secret. According to rumors, Sonic will turn out to be a young delinquent who will have to team up with a police officer named Tom in order to thwart Eggman's next insane plan. At the end of May, it was reported that Paul Rudd was claiming the role of the blue hedgehog's partner. The very next day it became known that James Marsden had joined the cast of the film. Paramount still hasn't provided a description of his character, so it's possible that Tom's role is still vacant.
