Sonic is still alive
In June 2014, Sony Pictures studio announced the start of work on a film based on the video game Sonic the Hedgehog . Since then, there has been no news about the upcoming project, and the release date of the film has not been determined.In an interview for The World Folio CEO of Sega Sammy Group Jaime Satomi shed light on the fate of the tape:“Our company, together with the studio Sony is preparing a hybrid of a fiction and animation film about Sonic . We plan to release the picture on screens in 2018 ". The project has no director yet, and according to the latest information, Evan Sasser and Van Robichaux are working on the script for the film. Neil H. Moritz, Takeshi Ito and Mie Onishi are responsible for producing. The details of the plot are kept secret, but fans of the game can expect to see the most popular characters in the franchise, including Dr. Eggman .  The main character, Sonic the Hedgehog , has remained a cult character for more than two decades, and sales of video games for various platforms have exceeded 140 million. This is not the first time Sonic will appear on the screens - in 1996 the animated film "Sonic the Hedgehog: The Film" was released, which went directly to video, and even earlier, in 1993, an animated series about the hero appeared.
