The 44th Annual Saturn Awards took place in Burbank, California. The event was hosted by actor, screenwriter and comedian Jonah Ray. The status of the main favorite of the ceremony in the "Cinema" section was confirmed by the superhero blockbuster "Black Panther", which claimed victory in 14 nominations. At the end of the evening, the Marvel studio's film comics got five golden statuettes. The struggle in the categories for TV projects was much more intense. The palm was shared by the mystical thriller Twin Peaks and the crime drama Better Call Saul, each with three Academy Awards for Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films.
