Review of the cartoon Cars 2. Buckets on wheels
Legends can be made about the abilities of the Pixar animation studio from year to year to delight its fans with one wonderful project after another, yet with such fertility it is not possible for everyone to constantly produce the highest quality work. Even when it came to a sequel to the already highly praised cartoon, the creators managed to surpass the original in all respects. But someday, the eminent creators of masterpiece cartoons had to stumble. Now we can say with confidence that, unfortunately, this day has come. In order to increase the popularity of alternative energy sources, the World Grand Prix is held in Europe, in which all participants must be fueled with biofuel, thereby abandoning traditional gasoline. Our old acquaintances Lightning McQueen and his faithful friend Mater, of course, will take part in this competition. True, none of them realize that in the end, because of this trip to Europe, they will be involved in a sinister spy conspiracy. Now old friends will have to not only confront the gang of `` buckets on wheels '', but also test their friendship for strength … Subject, `` Cars 2 '' very different from the original, making a strong bias towards the spy detective, smoothly moving away from the usual racing competition. Of course, races here still play a rather important role in history, but certainly not the main one. They are just a background for the spy line coming to the fore, which, in turn, turned out to be very dynamic and swirling. There is even a `` surprise ending '' traditional for the spy genre, which may seem predictable to someone, but certainly not to the kids, who, in the first place, this cartoon is focused on. The main character has also changed here. Lightning McQueen, like the aforementioned racing competition, faded into the background, becoming only a background for another, no less impressive hero - ndash; Mater. Having made this particular character the center of the narrative, the writers acted very reasonably, after all, McQueen fully revealed himself in the first part, and the second time watching his champion achievements would be boring. Of the new characters, in principle, there is really no one to celebrate, except for the Formula 1 driver and McQueen's main competitor on the track, Francesco Bernoulli. This is probably the most charismatic character in the cartoon, since the spies Finn and Holly, the Master's assistants, turned out to be somewhat bland and not particularly entertaining. They are more impressive with their typically Bond gadgets than characters. Although, in general, there are no complaints about the plot, towards the end there is a feeling that something is missing. After viewing and brief analysis, it becomes clear that there is not enough soulfulness, touching, if you like. It is she who, in my deep conviction, is the main advantage of the Pixar works. Light, unobtrusive and completely non-pretentious drama added zest and depth to the studio's previous creations. Take, for example, the scene with photographs of the protagonist's youth in the notorious `` Up '', from which the heart skipped a beat, and goose bumps ran through the body. There is nothing like this here. Someone maybe will not consider this a disadvantage and will not be disappointed, but still this is direct proof that `` Cars 2 '' - not the best creation of the studio. There is nothing special to say about the visual range, since everything is expected to be perfect here. Very colorful water (it looks awesome in 3D glasses), moving facial expressions of characters, bright explosions and adrenaline action scenes accompanied by a corresponding soundtrack combine to form an amazing sight on the screen. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. In short, "Cars 2" quite suitable for a pleasant pastime. The main thing is not to expect from him the revelation and depth of previous Pixar creations, since from this position the cartoon does not look so advantageous.
