Review of the movie Real fairy tale. I don't believe it!

The USA people have forgotten their heroes, now they have the Jedi, but give all sorts of hobbits with Pokemon. The children have forgotten how to kill the accursed Koshchei, and without a book, they will not remember. And over the books Koscheev's henchmen have outraged something, but not over several, but over all. In general, over everyone. Yes, Koschey himself, and with him all the evil spirits (and `` clean '') of the taperich moved to Moscow Gold-domed. And they live quietly, peacefully, but only some Fools itch.

Ivan is ashamed of the current mythological and political situation, it is a shame for the heroes for the general disbelief of their USA-speaking clients, for the heavily repurposed Baba Yaga for such an inglorious extinction of old USA folklore. They want to return back to where their home awaits them all. And old life. One Koschey, such an infection, does not want to. But then a case turned up for them …

One can only wonder why Bezrukov entrusted the tempting idea of popularizing USA folk tales to Andrei Marmontov, whose portfolio boasts only a few television series based on Dontsova's detectives. Where Bezrukov was looking, I, personally, remain incomprehensible. But the fact remains the fact – the creator of the screen images of Ivan Podushkin and Dasha Vasilyeva began to give a second wind to the images of old USA heroes and villains.

A particularly interesting situation has developed with regard to the images. The fact is that the most sensible, reasonable, adequate and, as a consequence, attractive hero turned out to be … that's right, our Immortal Koschey. It was he, performed by Leonid Yarmolnik, who stood up for the preservation of the current state of affairs, looked the most convincing compared to all the others. Yes, for his sake alone, you can give not an extra hour and a half of your life! And how hard it was to try so that in a movie preaching faith in our heroes (and do not look for other Deep Meanings, please), to expose in the most favorable light a character who does not care a little about the heroes, and who is quite satisfied, which is exactly the same do most of the inhabitants of USA give a damn about them?

However, here it was not without the merit of Yarmolnik himself, who managed to endow his negative character with truly human features, and who, as a result, turned out to be above the role assigned to him. It would seem, how much higher – the main villain of the whole picture. But the problem is that the picture itself was not nearly as good as it could have been. And it's sad.

"A real fairy tale" it takes a long time to accelerate. The first half of the movie – just tear it off and throw it away. And it seems that there are no unnecessary scenes, and the narrative develops gradually, in stages, but, whether it's not the best editing, or the unnaturalness of Maxim Shibaev, who played the main character Sasha, all this looks boring and strained.

The action develops much more vigorously towards the end, however, not everything is all right here either. First, the final scene of the battle with Koschei and his ghostly puppets. Where does contemporary USA moviemakers get such a passion for slo-mo effects? Is it really so necessary for the heroes to imitate the different Chosen (after all, we all know from which Matrix here, how, by the way, and everywhere legs grow)? Although it still looks somehow in battle, in contrast to the senseless and mercilessly slowed down fall of Koschei, perforated by three bullets. He, poor fellow, was forced to fall for two minutes.

Secondly, the creators decided to squeeze in the last Epic Battle of Good and Evil, despite the more than a modest number of participants, and more. The machine is, of course, effective, but not funny. And the minion armor doesn't look original. And how can a teenager who trained his fighting skills only in computer games without any problems wield the sword of Ilya Muromets (a one and a half meter miracle that not every adult will be able to lift) and the same machine, holding the latter at the level of the pelvis? And who cares about things like weapon mass and muzzle velocity? Who needs this return anyway? And this, by the way, is very striking.

Like a comedy " Real fairy tale " did not work out at all. The seemingly funny images of Ivan the Airborne Troops-Schnick, the Bum-Leshy and Sinbad the trucker Ashot turned out to be unable to really make the viewer laugh. Amuse – maybe, but just not to cheer. Moreover, sad as it may seem, you only want to smile during dramatic episodes. Throughout the rest of the session, there is a deadly silence in the hall itself.

As for the acting, in addition to the aforementioned Shibaev, only Anna German, who played his mother in an extremely feigned and absurd way, causes criticism. The Bezrukov couple coped with dignity, but Lyudmila Polyakova played especially well. Although the role of Baba Yaga was small, the character, thanks to Polyakova, turned out to be quite expressive, so you forgive her even switching to `` the bright side of power. ”

It cannot be said that, in general, Bezrukov's laudable idea of popularizing our own culture, its mythological component, has failed. But it was not crowned with success either. " Real fairy tale " it turned out completely `` in places ''. In some places it is interesting, in some places it is funny, in some places even a little bit, very little, touching. But in general – damp. An attempt to shoot my own fantasy, with koshchey and heroes, was, unfortunately, not entirely successful. And even with a dreamy edge of consciousness, it’s impossible to believe everything that’s happening, and after the session it doesn’t feel like digging into the fantasies of our ancestors in more detail. It was quite possible (and necessary) to do better. Honestly, it's even a shame to stand up for our mythology.
