Festival de Cannes starts Up
For the first time in the history of the Cannes Film Festival, at its opening will be shown not a full-length feature movie, but a stereoscopic cartoon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the organizers of the movie forum decided to open it with an animation tape of the Walt Disney and Pixar studios "Up". It is not yet known whether the picture will take part in the competition program or remain outside of it. In 2009 the festival will run from 13 to 24 May.
