The owner of Puss in Boots was found (Topic)

Screenwriter Tom Wheeler, who previously worked on popular television projects, was tasked with writing a storyline for the first spin off of the Shrek movie franchise called Puss in Boots. For the first time this character, voiced by Antonio Banderas, appeared in the second part of the cartoon with the intention of killing Shrek, but then became his friend.

The audience liked the character so much that the DreamWorks movie studio decided to separate him into a separate production.
