Michael Fassbender to star in X-Men: First Class
German actor Michael Fassbender has officially joined the cast of X-Men: First Class, the prequel to the acclaimed sci-fi franchise. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Fassbender will play the role of a young Erik Lehnscher - a mutant who knows how to control metals, who in the future received the nickname Magneto and became the main opponent of Professor Xavier. The role of the latter will be played by James McAvoy. Filming will begin in August 2010 in London.
