Billy Bob Thornton's daughter received 20 years in prison
The daughter of the popular Hollywood actor and director Billy Bob Thornton was sentenced to 20 years in prison for murdering a child. This was reported by The Wrap. In June 2011, 32-year-old Amanda Brumfield was found guilty of aggravated manslaughter. Initially, the prosecutor's office accused her of first-degree murder, for which the defendant could be sentenced to life imprisonment. The tragedy took place in October 2008 in Orlando. Amanda Brumfield agreed to spend time with her friend's one-year-old daughter while the latter was away. At night, she called an ambulance, and the doctors pronounced the girl's death and called the police. Investigators recorded a deep wound about 10 centimeters long on the child's crown. According to Amanda, the girl fell out of her playpen. However, the forensic medical examination proved that the child could not have received such serious injuries when falling from a low height.
