Iran refuses to honor Oscar winner
The Iranian authorities have banned the holding of celebrations at which it was planned to honor the director Asgar Farhadi, who won the Oscar in the category Best Foreign Language Film. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The reasons for the ban, as is usually the case in such cases in Iran, are not explained. The National Associations of Directors and Producers have already expressed their regret over this decision. As a reminder, Farhadi's movie The Divorce of Nadir and Simin; not only won the Academy Award, but also won the Golden Globe in a similar nomination.
