Independent Film Award winners announced
In the USA, the Independent Spirit Awards took place, the laureates of which are traditionally named before the Oscar ceremony. The Artist became the best feature movie Michel Hazanavicius. The director himself was victorious in his professional category. In the best lead category; awards went to Michelle Williams (7 Days and Nights with Marilyn Monroe) and Jean Dujardin (The Artist).
