George Clooney will direct a movie about Fidel Castro's American associate
George Clooney will direct the movie based on a May 28, 2012 article by The New Yorker. This is reported by the Deadline resource. The article tells the real story of US citizen William Alexander Morgan, who fought on the side of Fidel Castro and helped the latter to overthrow the Batista regime in Cuba. For his services to the new homeland, he, the only foreigner, besides Che Guevara, was awarded the title of Comandante. However, soon after the victory of the revolution, Morgan was accused of collaborating with American intelligence, arrested and shot. Filming will take place at Focus Features studio.
