Spielberg will not be movieing American Oldboy
American remake of the Korean movie Oldboy will not take place. According to the resource LatinoReview, citing its sources, Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks movie studio refused to participate in this project already at the stage of writing the script and acquiring the rights. Why Spielberg changed his mind about movieing the remake, in which he intended to give the main role to Will Smith, has not yet been specified. Recall that Park Chang-Wook's movie Oldboy; was released in 2003. The plot of the movie was built around a hero who was imprisoned for 15 years, and then released for revenge.
