Alexander Desplat will head the jury of the Venice International Film Festival. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter, citing the organizers. Note that this will be the first time in the history of the prestigious European movie forum when a composer becomes the leader of its panel of judges. Recall that Desplat wrote music for such famous movies as The King's Speech, Operation Argo, Godzilla and many others. The composer has been nominated for six Academy Awards.
