Anniversary Film Festival has opened in Venice
The 70th International Film Festival opened in Venice with the screening of the movie Gravity, directed by Alfonso Cuaron. 20 movies are announced in the main competition program, including Hayao Miyazaki's cartoon The Wind Rises, Zero's Theorem (Terry Gilliam), Philomena (Stephen Frears) Trails (John Curran) and others. As part of the Venezia Classici program, a restored version of the movie My Friend Ivan Lapshin, directed by Alexey German, will be shown. USA moviemakers - director Alexei German ml. and actress Ksenia Rappoport - will select winners in two different programs. The main jury was chaired by Bernardo Bertolucci.
