British television academics did not appreciate Peter Capaldi's performance
Peter Capaldi became the first Time Lord on the BBC's 2005 sci-fi series Doctor Who not to be nominated for the prestigious UK National Television Awards. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Despite mostly rave reviews for his performance in the eighth season of the series, Capaldi will not compete with Benedict Cumberbatch ("Sherlock"), Sarah Lancashire ("Happy Valley"), Maggie Smith ("Downton Abbey") and Sheridan Smith ("Cilla") for Best Dramatic Actor.
