Premiere of Kung Fu Panda 3 has been postponed again

Studio DreamWorks has again postponed the date of the premiere of its cartoon "Kung Fu Panda 3". According to the press release, instead of December 23, 2015, as previously planned, the project will be presented to viewers on March 18, 2016.

It is noteworthy that the cartoon was originally announced by the studio for 2016, but then the premiere date was postponed to December 2015. The most obvious explanation for the latter change is the unwillingness to compete at the box office with Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens.

Earlier it became known that at least a third of all work on the creation of the cartoon "Kung Fu Panda 3" will be done by the Chinese companies CMC, Shanghai Media Group and Shanghai Alliance. The status of a joint venture will allow the creators of the cartoon to bypass some of the restrictions imposed by the authorities on foreign movie projects, in particular, to claim a large share of the profit from the distribution.

Recall that the second part of the animation project, dedicated to Poe and his friends, was released in 2011. The cartoon's worldwide box office grossed $ 665 million. The combined earnings of the first two episodes exceeded $ 1.3 billion worldwide. The main characters were voiced by such famous actors as Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Lucy Liu, Jackie Chan and others.
