2015 Golden Eagle Award Nominees Announced
The National Academy of Cinematic Arts and Sciences of USA has presented a list of nominees for its 2014 Golden Eagle Award. Five movies will compete in the main nomination "Best Feature Film" for the award: "Weekend" (Stanislav Govorukhin), "White Nights of the Postman Alexei Tryapitsyn" (Andrey Konchalovsky), "Star" (Anna Melikyan), "Leviathan" (Andrey Zvyagintsev) and "Sunstroke" (Nikita Mikhalkov). The projects "Beslan. Memory", "Leo Tolstoy and Ilya Ginsburg: Double portrait against the background of the era" and "Yankovsky" are announced in the category "best non-fiction movie". Three animated movies will compete for Golden Eagle 2015 - Belka and Strelka: Lunar Adventures, Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf 2 and Frederic Chopin. Andrey Konchalovsky ("White Nights of the Postman Alexei Tryapitsyn"), Nikita Mikhalkov ("Sunstroke") and Andrey Zvyagintsev ("Leviathan") will compete in the nomination "Best Director's Work". Elena Lyadova ("Leviathan"), Daria Moroz ("Fool") and Yulia Peresild ("Weekend") will be nominated for the Academy Award in the nomination "Best Actress in a Movie". Alexander Zbruev ("Cinema about Alekseev"), Maxim Matveev ("Weekend") and Alexei Serebryakov ("Leviathan") are represented in a similar men's category. In the nomination "Best TV Series", the nominees for the award will be the projects "Kuprin. In the Dark", "Thaw" and "Stanitsa". The category "Best TV movie or mini-series" includes "Demons", "Major Sokolov's Heteras" and "Owl's Cry".
