Syfy Films Wheatley Strieber's Bestselling Alien Hunter
Syfy has commissioned the production of a thirteen-part drama based on Wheatley Strieber's bestseller Alien Hunter. The series is slated to premiere in 2016. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The TV project, which is supervised by the producer of The Walking Dead Gail Ann Hurd, has been under development for over a year. The casting will be announced later. The plot of the series is built around Pennsylvania detective Flynn Carroll, who, after the mysterious disappearance of his wife, becomes the prime suspect. Emu will have to prove his innocence and find his wife. His searches lead to proof of the existence of dangerous alien cells living among people. Carroll learns that there is a secret organization in the US government, opposing their terrorist intentions. Natalie Chadez (Client List) will write and executive produce with Heard. Strieber's novel, The Coming World Superstorm; inspired Roland Emmerich to shoot the disaster movie The Day After Tomorrow, in which some events are taken entirely from the book.
