Britney Oldford (American Horror Story) has been cast as the female lead in Syfy's 13-episode alien drama "Hunters." The series, curated by Gail Anne Heard, executive producer of the zombie drama The Walking Dead, is slated to release in 2016. Australian actor Nathan Phillips, with whom negotiations are underway at the time of writing, is expected to play the lead male role. This is reported by Deadline. The series, written by Natalie Chadez (Heroes), is based on the 2013 bestselling novel Alien Hunter by science fiction writer Whitley Striber. In the drama, a cop from Philadelphia (Philips) searches for his missing wife, which leads him on the trail of a secret government unit, formed to hunt a group of ruthless terrorists. These mysterious personalities may well belong to another world. Oldford will play Regan, a talented and valued operative working for the government. Hurd and Chadez will share executive producer roles. The series will be movieed in Melbourne, Australia. Based on the works of Striber, several movies were shot, including The Day After Tomorrow, Hunger, Contact, Wolves.
