Robin Williams Tops Google's Annual Query Rankings
Google has released an annual list of the most popular searches. The global search ranking was topped by the name of the famous Hollywood actor Robin Williams, who dramatically passed away in August 2014. The list of leaders also included another request related to cinematography - the cartoon "Frozen", which turned out to be in ninth place. The online flash mob Ice Bucket Challenge, in which many Hollywood celebrities took part, took fifth place. Robin Williams also topped the top fastest growing searches in North America. Jennifer Lawrence was in the lead in the "personalities" section, whose popularity was due not only to her participation in box-office movies, but also to the scandal with the leakage of intimate photographs. Lawrence and Jared Leto became the most popular actors on Google. The most popular trailer was the video for the Gone Girl movie, and the most popular movie project was the animated movie Frozen. The most popular selfie was taken during the Oscar 2014 ceremony. As for USA, the 2014 Olympics in Sochi were expected to lead the domestic search ranking.
